From January 13 to 14, the second National "Advanced Structural Engineering Science" doctoral Academic Forum and Young Scholars Forum was held in Beijing。This forum is jointly sponsored by the Institute of Advanced Structure Technology of Beijing Institute of Technology, the Professional Committee of Solid Mechanics of the Chinese Society of Mechanics and the Expert Group of Advanced Structure Technology，It was jointly organized by Institute of Advanced Structure Technology, Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing Key Laboratory of Lightweight Multi-Function Composites and Structures and Youth Working Committee of Chinese Society of Mechanics。The Forum attracted more than 300 experts, scholars and doctoral students from mechanics, machinery, materials science and other disciplines across the country。Professor Li Hui, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Harbin Institute of Technology，Prof. Guo Xu, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Vice Chairman of Chinese Society of Mechanics, Chairman of Youth Working Committee of Chinese Society of Mechanics, Dalian University of Technology，Professor Liao Wenhe, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Nanjing University of Science and Technology and leader of the expert group on Advanced structure technology，Director, Institute of Advanced Structural Technology, Beijing Institute of Technology，And representatives of relevant departments to participate in the forum。The chairman of the forum was Liang Jun, responsible professor of the Institute of Advanced Structure Technology, and the executive chairman was Xu Baosheng and Li Ying, vice presidents of the Institute of Advanced Structure Technology。

At the opening ceremony, Guo Xu, Liao Wenhe and CAI Tingting, Executive Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Institute of Advanced Structure Technology of Beijing Institute of Technology, delivered speeches on behalf of the organizers。Everyone expressed their heartfelt thanks to the experts and scholars who have long cared for and supported the development of advanced structural technology in our country, and extended a warm welcome to the participants。The forum is an academic exchange in the field of advanced structural engineering science, which is of great significance in promoting the development of domestic advanced structural technology and promoting the integration of multidisciplinary ideas and research methods。We hope to take this forum as a platform to exchange academic ideas, stimulate the impetus for innovation, and jointly contribute wisdom and strength to the realization of high-level scientific and technological self-reliance and independent training of high-level talents。The opening ceremony of the Forum and the invitation report of the conference were co-chaired by Liang Jun and Xu Baosheng。

Li Hui, Guo Xu and Liao Wenhe gave academic reports on the topics of "New Paradigm of Scientific Computing - Intelligent Computing", "Structural Analysis and Optimal Design Based on Problem-independent High Normalized Machine Learning Technology" and "Progress and Application of Advanced Structural Technology" respectively。Prof. Zhao Qilin from Nanjing University of Technology, Prof. Li Xiaowei and Prof. Chen Haosen from Beijing Institute of Technology, and Prof. Xu Yingjie from Northwestern Polytechnical University delivered academic reports as invited guests and shared the latest research results of advanced structural design, manufacturing and evaluation。

The forum also set up five sub-forums with the theme of "lightweight multi-functional structure", "controllable intelligent structure", "new concept imitation biochemical structure", "Advanced structure evaluation technology" and "Advanced structure calculation analysis and software"。26 young scholars and 59 excellent doctoral students from universities and research institutes across the country reported on the theme of the sub-forum。The sub-forum commended the outstanding doctoral reports。

The National "Advanced Structural Engineering Science" doctoral Academic Forum is an academic exchange brand created by the Institute of Advanced Structural Technology of Beijing Institute of Technology and domestic technical superiority departments and units。The first forum will be held in November 2021，It is the first professional forum for advanced structural technology research in China，As one of the 10 domestic important academic conferences recommended by the Chinese Society of Mechanics，It was selected into the Chinese version of "Guide to Important Academic Conferences (2022)" and the English version of Top Academic Conferences 2022 released by China Association for Science and Technology for the first time。
